IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM LAKE COWICHAN 50+ACTIVITY CENTRE On Wednesday, June 3rd, the Cowichan Lake District Seniors Association, together with The Golden Agers Society, met to discuss when we might be able to safely consider re-opening of the 50 Plus Centre. After much discussion, a vote was taken with the Executives and Directors of each organization. It was determined by the voting by both organizations that for the safety and wellbeing of our members and our member's age demographics, that the Centre continues to remain closed. Consideration was also based on monitoring the changing COVID - 19 situations and concerns of Dr Bonnie Henry of the possibility of a second wave of COVID - 19 outbreak. All are valid considerations when combined with our anticipated summer influx of tourists. Our greatest concern in our decision is for the safety and wellbeing of our members and the community! The next meeting to re-evaluate the reopening of the Centre will be scheduled for September 2020. Thank you for your ongoing patience and understanding in this matter. We wish you a safe and enjoyable summer with your friends and family included in your 'bubble'. Respectfully, Al Hall President - Cowichan Lake District Seniors Association Phone - 250-732-2734 Tom Murchie President - Golden Agers Society NOTE: We appreciate you continuing to save your till tapes from Country Grocer. We will happily accept them when the Centre reopens, so please hang on to them. Every little bit helps!
