Della Rice-Sylvester is a respected Cowichan Tribes Elder Medicine Woman and ethnobotanist based in Duncan and known for her expertise in traditional indigenous plant medicine and healing arts. Trained by her grandmothers from age five, she offers workshops on plant identification, medicine making and traditional cultural protocols.
An indigenous medicine walk is a mindful, guided, or personal journey through nature, aimed at connecting with the land for physical, emotional, and spiritual healing. The walk will focus on identifying traditional medicinal plants, herbs, and trees, while learning their ecological, historical, and sacred uses. You will learn how to make healing salves, from the plants we collect.
